The Farce of Peace

So Abbas and Sharon are planning another Summit. Israel has publicly halted its mission to seek out and kill palestinian militants. Abbas has moved his security forces deeper into Gaza to prevent more rocket launches into Israel.

But won’t it all just ‘blow up’ like it always has? Won’t one side or the other do something to rouse the conflict that is now in the blood of both sides?

I hate to be so skeptic, but Israel frequently makes moves towards peace, only to hypocritically press its thumb down in some way within hours. “We want peace, but you must surrender first!” By that logic, doesn’t every army really want peace, in the form of victory?

And in Palestine, only a handful are responsible for actively resisting the occupation (and what restraint the rest show!) Are we really to believe these few extremists have lain down their arms?

In a conflict where all Israeli bullets magically hit a child, and every child is really a terrorist in disguise, how can we believe anything either side says?

Eagles

The Eagles won.

This is dissappointing. I live a little too close to S. Street. So i was hoping these morons would lose in the cold yesterday so :
1) I wouldn’t have to fucking hear about it anymore.
2) The fans screaming, or not screaming would have been light in such cold and snow
3) I wouldn’t have to fucking hear about it anymore.
4) I could laugh at the morons at work who insist on discussing football with me even though I tell them I don’t care about football.

My father was from Manhattan, he played Basketball, so he didn’t care about football.
My mother is British, she always made fun of American footballers. Basically she called them a bunch of pussies for wearing pads. I think this is where my disdain comes from.

Oh, and there’s a FUCKING War on!!! Who the fuck cares about the goddamn Eagles!
People always tell me about the strategy of Football. Hey, Drama and strategy are happening for real in Iraq!!

Who cares what the dead want

I'm all for privacy. But one aspect of this story is about what the dead want. Who the hell cares what they want. They are dead. They are of no use to the living on the planet. I say, let the living figure out what's best to do with the relics the dead left behind.

a permanent plan for killing due process

So I just read this article:

maybe i’m touchy about due process, but I’m starting to think about gulags and camps.
