I recently found this site which is a seamless fusion of politics and UFO related content.

There were pages of denouncements of CIA operations from the last 60 years, right on up to ‘alternative’ theories of 9/11, and then it just drops into UFO talk, as if its the same topic.

I think the point of the site is that aliens are behind all this stuff going on. An idea that’s been discussed here before…

Hey guys,

i’m looking to put some better RSS feeds in the Headlines section. if you paste me the urls of some feeds you find to be useful, i’ll add them.

BBC seems to have blocked my server from getting their feeds =( and salon only has a feed of their shitty op-ed pieces, not their newswires. =(

I accepted a part time position teaching Macromedia Flash to Digital Media students at Drexel University (my old school).

It’s pretty exciting, because i’ve always been a wanna-be creative type, and now i’ll get to teach students in a design school at Drexel just enough programming to handle ActionScript and do cool things with it in Flash.

My old Professor Jervis from the class I’ll be teaching recommended me for the job.

I’ve switched the site over to a system called xoops. Movable Type, the previous system, was good for the first 2 years, but it had a number of problems that forced me to switch:

• posting and commenting got slow over time
• spam seems to gravitate to MT
• the people that wrote it were going to start charging for the next version
• it can be hacked.

Xoops seems really cool, but everything is in php, so there aren’t hard urls to articles anymore, which bothers me for some reason.

anyway, i spent tons of time writing a script to import all the MT entries into Xoops. It also imported all your accounts, but i think the passwords got corrupted. There is a “forgot password” link now, though, so just use that, and enter your username@intensivepurposes.com as the email.

one quick warning: don’t put HTML links in your posts, there is a little button (looks like a chain link) that lets you insert links with xoops syntax.

UPDATE: I’ve now switched to WordPress which was an extremely painless transition. I was really up and running in five minutes. and it only took a few hours to apply my sites design to WordPress.

I wonder if this counts as educational spending?

I’m sure Bush didn’t have any part in writing this educational material, but thanks to his conservative christian roadmap, shit like this apparently gets funded.

Salon talks about a new congressional investigation that reveals numerous issues from extreme untruths to unsubstantiated claims presented as fact.

I know you all hate the damn salon ads, but there is enough meat in the first paragraph to make this worth clicking, even if you don’t watch the ad to read the rest.

did you know you can get pregnant just by touching a vagina or penis? I guess thats why doctors wear those latex gloves. I suppose if you were finger painting with semen first that could be true.
