Barcelona

So I just got back from Barcelona, and i’m offcially hooked on Fanta orange soda and ham sandwiches. I had a great time, and a number of firsts:

first time someone offered to sell me pot (its good shiit!, he said)
first time someone offered to sell me sex (are you my friend?, she said)
first time i saw someone screaming in spanish or catalan, couildn’t tell, but he ended his rampage by calling someone a socialist (socialista!)
first time i went to a foreign country by my self

I met a cool irish guy with a danger mouse shirt, that was one of the highlights. I don’t know what made him cooler, the whole rebellious irish youth thing or the danger mouse shirt.

I got lots of pictures, including one denouncing Bush and Sharon as terroristas. Speaking of Bush, i never saw such ubiquitous Bush hating. I mean in my circle of friends everyone hates bush, but there’s lots of people that like him here too (these people should be shot) but in spain it was so accepted that he is evil that they made fun of him on the metro TV station (its the channel thats always on in the metro stops big TVs) and he was the subject of much graffiti.

Senate report: war rationale based on CIA error

I love how the blamed is being focussed on the CIA. Everyone involved is to blame, Dubbya, the House and Senate, and the intelligence community. But lets just focus on the CIA, and then everyone in our government (democrat and republican alike) can get re-elected more easily.

I also liked this part:

Following release of the 511-page review Friday, the panel’s top Democrat, West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller, said three-quarters of senators would not have voted to authorize the invasion if they had known how weak the intelligence was.

Good to know they were all just voting on the “because he said so” factor. I mean come on, even the “sexed-up” stuff in the news was pretty shaky.

Troops uncover Iraq ‘bomb factory’

Maybe i’m stating the obvious here, but just in case…

So before U.S. invasion of Iraq (i don’t remember if the press called it that, but no one invited us, so) there were apparently* no weapons of mass destruction, and certainly no weapons posing a threat to any US citizens.

After invasion, US soldiers _and_ civilians have died quite regularly, and some people of Iraq have decided that it is time they did have labs to build weapons. They may be just building car bombs and what-not, but it seems one step closer to living up to their seat on the Axis.

Don’t go saying that i’m a Saddam supporter or a terrorist, but absolutely none of the reasons I heard the tools in the whitehouse give have turned out to be valid.

Oh but democracy is always good, lets start signing that tune. “Oh say can you see…”

Speaking of democracy. If Saddam gassing the Kurds over a decade ago is reason for invasion, There’s a little democracy that kills Palestinians almost weekly (thats right now, ongoingly, etc). Now thats a democracy in Our image.

What a stupid reason to have an article about Saddam

I found this silly article on BBC analyzing his body language while he was under trial, or pre-trial or whatever…
