Ithaca tops new list of ‘emerging’ U.S. cities

I’m not sure what the hell we are emerging from but Phili wasn’t on the list ;-P

check out the list Here

Decisiveness

I’m a fairly decisive person. I don’t often find myself wavering on my feelings and convictions. Personally, I think it’s a great characteristic for a young person. We need that energy from our youth. Idealism and the desire to define things, which may or may not already be defined, are important. It drives the change and progress that makes us human.

fun facts

I didn’t do scholarly research on this but…

I watched a piece of that debate of the Guy heading the Republican party vs Terry McAuliffe (Democrat party). Anywho, Someone asked a question about the high cost of College Education. He answered that Bush was doing the right things by making more college students eligible for Pell Grants.

So i got to wondering. Did bush really expand the program? Or, Did more people move from middle class to lower class, and now they are eligible? I wonder…..

So technically, He would be right. Bush did make more people eligible for Pell grants.

Rumsfeld caught off guard

what a dumb-ass. check out this exchange, where a reporter asks him why he said iraq was an immediate threat. Rumsfeld reply’s that he never used the word “immediate” and its some kind of urban folklore that he did.

the reporter then goes on to read him a transcript from Congress where he said just that, and Rumsfeld goes into this retarded sounding stutter about how they believed they had the best intelligence.

thanks to Russel Beattie for the story.

Taiwan

I made it here, and the 24 hour flight wasn’t really that bad. I’ll update the site with pictures as I get them, since Szu-ting’s family has hi speed wireless in the house. The only thing i’ve noticed so far is that there are so many damn scooters on the roads in Taipei.

Day 1: We drove along the north-east shore, with the pacific ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. It was really a beautiful site. The end of our trip was the lighthouse, and then we came back to the city to go the seafood market. I had to say “boo yow” to a few pushy merchants.
Day 2: Today we went for a hike on a mountain that overlooks the city. After that we had a Mongolian BBQ, and then Po and I hit thit Night Market (sorry no pics of that). I did get this cool movie of the “walk” signal they use on the streets though.
Day 3: As requested, we have city pictures! first we went to the pottery district outside of Taipei city. Here they have the China museum (not the country, but the pottery… whoever named the country after the product was a moron) No photos allowed here (the museum, not china) which sucked because playing with my camera would have kept me entertained. After the musem, we went to what i call potter’s row (like jewlers row for pottery) They had many nice shops here, and i got some gifts for people… maybe you’ll be luckey! (unlikely unless your my mom or Po’s mom neither of whom will be reading this) I got a nice little monkey statue for myself too, to remember my visit during the year of the monkey!

Next we went to the Night Market. Taipei has this great feature: it stays open all night long, past 3. Not just bars and clubs, but random street merchants selling chicken feet and 7-11, and everything else. At the Night Market I got a taste of snake soup (tastes like chicken, but you should have seen this 9 fingered man who killed the snake before our eyes, and left its beating heart on the table (which continued to beat for the whole meal) He let me take a picture of him cause i’m foreign, in spite of the no pictures sign.

Day 4: Saw some landmarks today, like the Chaing Kai Shek Memorial Hall (oh my god, AYFKM?). Had some famous pastries. I even got a movie of how the subway cars here stop with the doors lined up right on these little arrows painted on the platform. I need some sleep now, enjoy the pictures.

Janet Jackson

I can’t wait to have kids so I can corrupt them with the giant library of inappropriate tv I’ve taped over the years.

(I think that was the oldest boob I’ve ever seen.)
