I wonder if this is a sign of despotism:
Apparently the National Bureau of Economic Research, which is the official group that declares when a recession starts and ends, has decided that the only factor in determining a recession is how well companies are doing, not how well people are doing.
its funny, when you see old black and white movies about recessions, there are usually lots of people having trouble getting by. Its a good thing there are all these thriving businesses now, cause that means that mean ol recession ended way back in 2001.
Academics declare recession ended in 2001

Bad link, J? I can’t find the part you quoted in the article…

well, they seem to have replaced the article i quoted with an edited down version.
I guess using the phrase “illegal outposts” was too much, and they scrapped it.
oh well, it was there. I don’t expect random people to just take my word, but if you know me, then I assure you that the text above came from copy and pasting out of that URL.

Just so you know, I wasn’t trying to imply you were doing anything disingenuous. I thought maybe you had pasted the wrong link or something… I do that in X alot because some applications use gnome’s cut-n-paste and some use X-selection stuff.

nah, i didn’t misinterpret your comment, just being thorough, for our thousands of readers out there.
Yeah, i hate that about X. i’m writing java code (at work) write now to make X-buffer work seemlessly with cut and paste.

I actually really like the X-selection thing. Select text… middle click paste… it’s when gnome and kde get involved that I get pissy.
