so i came to my parents house monday to help them set up a wireless network (they just got cable internet access)

after setting up 3 PCs to use the network, i am reminded why windows sucks so much. Windows 2000, Windows 98 and Windows 95 were each progressively harder to set up (we have three laptops here of varying ages)

my dad still can’t get into his company’s VPN without disconnecting the router and plugging straight into the cable modem. hopefully we’ll have that fixed before i head back to philly.

my ibook, of course, just worked with the network, no setup required.

In other news, i went into the city to skate with the ny inline skating club (http://www.empireskate.org) and it was very fun– a much needed break for windows networking.

So if you know any skateboarders you’ve heard of the ban on skateboarding in philadelphia. Its only loosely enforced, except in certain hot spots, like love park, which is a former skateboarding mecca. (can i talk like that as a rollerblader?)

anyway, a couple of the coolest skateboarders i know run a site called skatenerd. they have this great article about the architect who designed love park, and how at 92, he recently skateboarded across it, in protest of philly’s anti skating laws.

here is a complaint.. a quick rant if u will..
i’m tired of being sick.. SICK = NO more…
i lived in CA for a almost 5 months working at a pretty crap job. my environment was the worst, a fog of cig smoke surrounded me at all times while half of them couldn’t figure out why they were on the brink of DEATH, but i remained healthy. (i worked on an indian reservation)
after my contract was up and i was sent home i sat on the plane and smiled, thinking of how nice it would be to see some of my friends from home. this was until i saw the first round of them. A human carrying a DEATH bug enered my home 3 days after my arrival, he and his little contagious children decided to show me how much they missed me by giving me a gift. 6 days later i still have a hard time thinking of what it must have been like to see the out side and to breath its fresh air. since then, i have done nothing but plot his DEATH. from one DEATH bug to another.

ok, so first you need to understand some background…

Daryl (Mr. Fantastic) announced that we were playing quizo again this week, after a break in Atlantic City last week. He wanted to know who was coming besides the “fantastic four” but i don’t think he was thinking of the comic.

so then Eric (The Thing) decides to name each of us one of the fantastic four, based on some funny insights he has into our personalities.

I’m the human torch and rob is invisible girl.

I hate it when i wake up and know i had a weird dream, but can’t remember it…

oh well. it happens all the time, and I only remember stuff when something happens later in the day that reminds me.

I went to the Henry David Ball on halloween, it was a blast!

i even got my picture taken with Ed Rendell (mayor of philly and PA gov’nor candidate)
